The natural park Castala is located in the south of sierra de Gádor, in the municipality of Berja. This place owns to the Junta de Andalusia, and was years ago a nursery own by the Estate Government. This place has being used since 1977 like a recreational park for all the people of the area including the main city (Almeria)
Most of the state is since 1941 has been reforest by Pinus Halepensis, while the normal vegetation is composed by own basófilas species of the termomediterranean floor, emphasizing the presence of aulagas, bolinas, atochas, rosemary and durillos.
